Alinea Orthodontics is a boutique orthodontic practice in Santa Monica, CA, founded in 2024 by Dr. Jose Enrique Ortiz, a board-certified orthodontist, and Jodie, Practice Director. We combine advanced technology with a calm, design-forward environment to deliver exceptional, personalized smile transformations.
We always knew we wanted to create an orthodontic practice that felt different.
For years, Dr. Ortiz worked in orthodontics and saw a clear path to raise the standard of care—treating the whole person, not just their smile, while integrating the latest technology and scientific research.
Jodie, with a background in design and branding, focused on reimagining the patient experience—making it more seamless and considered.
From a patient perspective, we also saw something else: many practices felt cold, clinical, and impersonal. We envisioned a space that feels warm, considered, and welcoming—more like a boutique studio than a traditional office. A place where patients can relax, feel at ease, and move through treatment with greater clarity and convenience, supported by modern tools like online booking, seamless communication, and remote monitoring.
The name Alinea comes from the Spanish word meaning “to align”—a reflection of Dr. Ortiz’s roots and our belief in bringing alignment not just to smiles, but to the overall patient experience.
